Reaching a length of 10 feet and weigh up to 299.37kg, tiger is the largest member in the cat family and is one of the most renowned big cats in the world. It is estimated that there are less than 4000 tigers remaining in the wild, due to pressures from poaching and retaliatory killings. Throughout their global range, human-tiger conflict is on the rise as species comes into contact with humans due to rapid habitat loss caused by the growing human population. In 2017, the IUCN SSC Cat Specialist Group dropped the number of tiger subspecies from eight to two – Panthera tigris tigris and Panthera tigris sondaica.
